Thai Massage

Sometimes described as having yoga done for you, Thai Massage is a hundreds-of-years-old style of body-mind-spirit care in Thailand that is a combination of stretching, acupressure and tissue compression/release. You relax and the practitioner does the work. The practitioner uses hands, forearms, elbows, knees and feet to stretch, press and support the recipient. It's done on a low mat on the floor with no disrobing. The Buddhist concept of metta, loving kindness, is sent to the recipient during the entire massage. This full body massage increases circulation, range of motion, and relaxation while harmonizing the body-mind's energetic flow. It is appropriate for athletes and exercise enthusiasts as well as office workers and those who do a lot of sitting/standing/repetitive motions.

Jessica was born and raised in Nebraska and has lived in Ohio since 2005. She made the decision in 2010 to take her career path in the same direction as her yoga path. Along the way she discovered Thai massage, which led her to complete a traditional Thai massage course, alongside her yoga teacher training program. Since then she has received a second certification in Thai massage. Prior to that her education and employment were in the human services field. Jessica also has a strong interest in traditional medicine.

Thai Massage is a style of bodywork that involves acupressure, joint mobilization, and yoga-like stretches which helps to improve range of motion, as well as circulation. This form of bodywork is typically performed on a mat on the floor, and the client wears comfortable clothes that allow for movement. No oils are used in Thai massage. It is known in Thailand as "nuat phaen boran", literally, the ancient-manner massage.

I am a new participant in the Holistic field. I provide the service of Thai Massage, which is a full body experience involving acupressure, minor yoga positions and stretches. This massage is a form of bodywork as well as energy work. I also am a certified Level 2 Reiki practitioner. This is also a form of energy work that promotes self wellness and healing using universal energy. The benefits of both services combined is an amazing relaxing, healing experience for the recipient.During the Thai Massage, Reiki energy is used to support throughout.

I am currently in the process of receiving my next and last level in Reiki healing and will begin my next level of Thai massage within the next 4 months. I am excited and extremely grateful to have found a form of helping others without the use of medication.

Also I am currently a student at Cuyahoga Community College were I am building the requirements to further my education in Naturopathic medicine, with the goal and aspiration of becoming an N.D. As I continue my own personal as well as formal studies, I hope to obtain the usage and knowledge both conventional and non-conventional to provide the best health and healing care possible.
