I do not recommend any particular diet as I am not a Medical Practitioner.  However, as a health coach, I work with clients where they are at and without judgement. You can choose a way of eating that is best for you based on your body, condition and preferences.

With that being said Science shows enormous benefits from a whole food plant based diet. Some prefer a low fat Vegan diet which has proven to reverse heart disease (research Dr. Esselstein)  If you would like more food choices, The Mediterranean Diet has consistently been shown to be an optimal diet for humans and there have been studies that it helps with heart health and insulin resistance.  Both of these diets feed our Microbiome, increasing healthy bacteria and decreasing pathogenic ones, while decreasing inflammation and other risk factors for Heart Disease and Cancer. And a Paleo Reset diet can help determine your sensitivities and eliminate foods while you are healing your gut and help you reintroduce them later.

If you would like to understand the research showing the ideal diet to feed our Microbiome, “The Paleo Mom” did a brilliant scientific study and discovered what specific foods are optional for a healthy microbiome, and therefore a balanced gut.  

In addition, the low Fodmap diet can help those with IBS and various gut issues while the Wahl’s Paleo Diet can help those with auto-immunity for example. Many who do not tolerate or choose not to eat grains are drawn to the Wahl’s Protocol or a high plant based AIP Paleo diet.  Some with heart or gallbladder issues eat a vegan lowfat diet. The commonality between all these plans is the emphasis on eating plant based foods with a preponderance of fruits and vegetables.
